7 Grand Slam Champions in Action on Day 2

A star-studded line-up is on the cards on Day 2 of the 2019 Wuhan Open as no less than seven Grand Slam champions are set to take to the courts.

Center Court will feature five Grand Slam champions in a row, starting with two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka taking on No. 16 seed Donna Vekic, followed by 2018 Australian Open Caroline Wozniacki meeting Taipei’s Su-Wei Hseih for the sixth time. The day session concludes with 2016 French Open and 2017 Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza going up against Chinese wildcard Shuai Peng. 

In the evening session, two-time Wuhan Open and Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova opens against Slovakia’s Polona Hercog, followed by defending champion Aryna Sabalenka taking on American Danielle Collins who dispatched Venus Williams in a first-round match. 

Court 1 sees two more Grand Slam champions in action in the form of Svetlana Kuznetsova taking on Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva (first match), and 2011 US Open champion Samantha Stosur battling American teen Amanda Anisimova (third match).
